THE DIRTY PROJECTORS RISE AGAIN

Hello, it´s still english-week at clausrichter.net!

600Px-Rise Above

Oh my god!
The Dirty Projectors, one of my my favorite bands of all times have released a new album, called “Rise above”
It is (in my humble opinion of course) the best album of the year.
“Rise above” is an imagined song-by-song-recreation of the Black Flag Album “Damaged”.
And of course (like the Don Henley concept for the brilliant “Getty Adress”-Album from the Projectors) it is much more than a hommage, it´s the unique voice of Dave Longstreth and his female choir, singing and playing in a very unique tonality which was and is new and exciting to me, everytime I listen to their music.
Please read the review and listen to the free MP3 of “No more” at the Pitchfork-Page!!
The Music-Live-Video-Production Blog Blogotheque has produced a very nice show with the Projectors in their “Concert a Emporter” series, which I highly recommend!!!!
(You can spend hours browsing through the archives! Also great: Sufjan, Hidden Cameras, Au revoir Simone)
Here it is:

And because I am so happy about the new album, I´d like to share my own recording of a live version of the song “Thirsty and miserable”. I recorded it at the Dirty Projectors concert at the Arnhem Fashion Biennal. (I have a YouTube Profile now, so there´ll be some more Sherlock-Vids on my blog now)

Of course, I bought a Fan T-Shirt!!!

Die Einschätzung Album des Jahres halte ich für übertrieben, aber es ist, in der Tat, eine schöne, runde Platte geworden.
    Danke für den Tipp.
