PARIS 01 Parc des Buttes Chaumont
Dieser Park ist sozusagen ein Klassiker, und wirklich ein Meisterwerk der Parkkultur.

Buttes Chaumont wurde unter Napoleon III zwischen 1864 und 1867 errichtet, er war (wie so oft bei tollen Anlagen) Teil der Weltausstellung, und zwar der Exposition Unverselle du Champs-Du-Mars von 1867. 
Der Gartenbaukünstler Barrillet-Deschamps der Architekt Davioud und die Ingenieure Belgrand und Jean-Charles Alphond entwickelten dieses artifiziele Kleinod in einem Mix-Stil aus englischem Landschaftsgarten und romantischem Fantasy-Park. Ich liebe diese Anlage und flaniere dort gerne, besonders liebe ich den romantischen Berg inmitten des Geländes.
Die Anlage wirkt wie ein Senktrichter, steile Wiesen fallen zum Kern des Parks ab, den der schon erwähnte künstliche Berg bildet.
Diese dramatische „Natur“ wurde damals durch ein enorm aufwendiges Terraforming inszeniert. 
Der Berg kann über eine Brücke erreicht werden, und dann erklimmt man ihn über gewundene Wege, begrenzt von aus Stein gemeisselten Zäunen, die in ihrer Oberflächenstruktur Holz imitieren. 
Absolut Prä-Disneyland und wirklich erste Sahne. Auf der Spitze des Berges befindet sich ein Pavillion, von dem aus man einen herrlichen Blick über Teile der Stadt hat.
Der Park ist durzogen von einem ebenfalls künstlichen Gebirgsbach, der im Sommer für angenehme Erfrischung sorgt. In mehreren kleinen Kaskaden stürzt der Bach in eine kühle Grotte, in der die Kinder dann in den Wasserfällen planschen. Ist es nicht herrlich?
Mich faszinieren gerade die historischen Weltausstellungen um die Jahrhundertwende 19./20. Jahrhundert. Das Bildmaterial und die Berichte sind einfach unglaublich schön, damals war (natürlich) der Style sooo viel besser als bei heutigen Weltausstellungen.
Der Park des Buttes de Chaumont ist ein Beispiel für den fantastischen und dramatisch-romantischen Stil, der auch die Weltausstellungen damal beherrschte. Besonders toll muß die Exposition Universelle von 1900 (in Paris) gewesen sein, dazu aber bald einen ganzen Blog-Report…
