Willie Nelson ist spitze! Seinem “He was a friend of mine” für Brokeback Mountain ließ er am letzten Valentinstag den ersten schwulen Countrysong folgen, der sehr schön ist, muß man echt sagen. 1996 haben Pansy Division den Song schon einmal für ein “Stop Homophobia” Album eingespielt (kann man auf ihrer Website downloaden).
Ich höre gerade auch sehr gerne sein neues Album “You don´t know me” auf dem er Songs der Country-Songwriterin Cindy Walker singt. Mein momentaner Lieblingstitel ist “Bubbles in my Beer” obwohl ich keinen Alkohol trinke…. Ich habe jedenfalls beschlossen, mich ein bisschen durch die freigeistige Outlaw-Country-Ecke durchzuhören, eben Willie Nelson oder auch die bezaubernde Emmylou Harris.
